Acceptable Use & Anti-Spam Policy

Our policy regarding outbound email conduct, spam prevention, and our zero-tolerance stance on unsolicited commercial messages.

Last updated: October 20, 2026 • PaperScale LLC

✓

Zero Spam Tolerance

Purchased lists, web scraping, and cold email blasts result in immediate termination.

✓

Human 1-to-1 Email

PaperScale is engineered exclusively for genuine personal and business correspondence.

✓

Abuse Isolation

Isolated SES tenants ensure one bad actor never harms neighboring inbox delivery.

1. Overview and Core Philosophy

PaperScale is built to provide calm, trustworthy, and reliable custom-domain email for solo founders, freelancers, and small teams. High email deliverability is a shared asset: when bad actors send spam, mailbox providers (like Gmail, Outlook, and Yahoo) blacklist the originating infrastructure, harming honest senders.

To maintain a pristine reputation for all customers, PaperScale strictly prohibits unsolicited commercial email (UCE), bulk email marketing, and automated cold outreach sequencing.

2. Prohibited Uses

You may not use PaperScale to send:

  1. Unsolicited Bulk Email (Spam): Any promotional, commercial, or informational messages sent to recipients who have not explicitly granted affirmative consent to receive communication from you.
  2. Purchased or Scraped Lists: Email lists obtained from data brokers, LinkedIn scrapers, directory extractors, or third-party lead generation databases.
  3. Automated Cold Sales Sequencing: Mass outreach pipelines, automated drip campaigns, cold pitch blasts, or high-volume multi-step outreach.
  4. Deceptive or Misleading Content: Emails with forged sender headers, disguised reply-to addresses, misleading subject lines, or spoofed domain names.
  5. Malicious Payloads: Malware, ransomware, phishing lures, credential harvesters, or deceptive links.
  6. Illegal Goods and Services: Schemes involving advance-fee fraud, illegal gambling, counterfeit products, or unlicensed pharmaceutical distribution.

3. Acceptable Email Usage

PaperScale is designed and optimized for:

  • Genuine one-to-one business communication with customers, partners, and colleagues.
  • Inbound inquiries and customer support responses.
  • Professional correspondence regarding contracts, proposals, invoices, and active projects.
  • Standard daily personal and business email exchanges.

If you require mass newsletter distribution or automated transactional event mailings (such as receipt blasts or marketing newsletters), you must use a dedicated transactional bulk service (e.g., Mailchimp, Postmark, or SendGrid) specifically designed for bulk volume.

4. Monitoring and Reputation Thresholds

Every PaperScale account operates under automated reputation telemetry connected to Amazon SES EventBridge:

  • Bounce Rate: Your hard bounce rate must remain strictly below 5%. A bounce rate above this threshold indicates poor list hygiene or purchased data.
  • Complaint Rate: The complaint rate (recipients marking your messages as spam) must remain strictly below 0.1% (1 complaint per 1,000 sent emails).

When an account breaches these thresholds, the automated guardian immediately pauses outbound sending to isolate the tenant and prevent IP degradation.

5. Violations and Account Termination

Violations of this Acceptable Use Policy are treated with zero tolerance.

  • Immediate Suspension: If we identify spamming, list scraping, or phishing, the offending account is permanently terminated without warning.
  • No Refunds: Customers terminated for spam violations forfeit all prepaid subscription fees and trial rights.
  • Data Preservation: Terminated spam accounts are barred from sending; however, export of non-abusive historic records may be granted at PaperScale’s sole discretion under legal compliance.

6. Reporting Spam and Abuse

If you have received unsolicited spam, phishing, or abusive messages originating from a domain hosted on PaperScale, please forward the complete RFC 822 email message (including all message headers) to:
