1. Acceptance of Terms

By creating an account, connecting a domain, or using PaperScale (“Service”, “we”, “us”, or “our”), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service (“Terms”). If you do not agree to these Terms, you must not use our Service.

PaperScale is operated by PaperScale LLC (“Company”).

2. Eligibility and Account Registration

To use PaperScale, you must:

  • Be at least 18 years of age or the age of legal majority in your jurisdiction.
  • Provide accurate, current account credentials during registration.
  • Maintain the confidentiality of your sign-in credentials and assume responsibility for all activities under your account.

You may register using Google Authentication or an email and password verified via a 6-digit confirmation code.

3. The Service and Scope

PaperScale provides custom-domain email hosting accessible through modern web and mobile applications.

  • No Third-Party IMAP/SMTP: To protect our IP deliverability, eliminate credential stuffing vectors, and keep service overhead low, PaperScale does not offer traditional IMAP or SMTP server credentials for third-party desktop mail clients or automated marketing plugins.
  • Dedicated Infrastructure: All email processing occurs across our isolated cloud infrastructure located in Frankfurt, Germany (AWS eu-central-1, Neon Lakebase Postgres, and encrypted Amazon S3 storage).

4. Subscriptions, Trials, and Payments

  1. 14-Day Free Trial: New accounts receive a 14-day free trial without submitting credit card information. Upon expiration of the 14-day trial without selecting a paid plan, your account locks: outbound and inbound email delivery is paused, but access to account settings and the 1-Click Data Export feature remains open.
  2. Paid Subscriptions: PaperScale offers recurring monthly and annual plans. Billing is processed securely through our merchant of record partner.
  3. Cancellation: You may cancel your subscription at any time from your account settings. Your service remains active until the conclusion of your current prepaid billing cycle.
  4. Refund Policy: If you are dissatisfied with PaperScale within the first 30 days of your initial paid billing cycle, contact support for a full, no-questions-asked refund. Accounts terminated for spam violations are not eligible for refunds.

5. Acceptable Use and Conduct

You agree to comply with our Acceptable Use & Anti-Spam Policy. You expressly agree not to use the Service for:

  • Sending unsolicited bulk commercial email (spam).
  • Purchasing, leasing, or scraping recipient email addresses.
  • Engaging in deceptive practices, spoofing headers, or running malware/phishing campaigns.

Violations result in immediate, non-refundable termination of service.

6. Intellectual Property and Content Ownership

  • Your Communications: You retain sole ownership, copyright, and title to all email content, messages, attachments, and domains configured on PaperScale.
  • Our Intellectual Property: PaperScale, our logo, user interface designs, underlying software code, and documentation remain the exclusive property of PaperScale LLC.

7. Service Availability and SLA

We target a 99.9% uptime availability for inbound and outbound email delivery. While we engineer multi-zone redundancy and automated tenant failover across AWS eu-central-1, we cannot guarantee that the service will be entirely uninterrupted or error-free at all times. Scheduled maintenance will be announced in advance via our public status telemetry.

8. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, in no event shall PaperScale LLC, its officers, or employees be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including loss of profits, data, or business goodwill, arising from your use of or inability to use the Service. In no event shall our total aggregate liability exceed the total amount paid by you to PaperScale during the twelve (12) months preceding the claim.
